MROC gets an app...
19 August 2026
That's right, we now have a mobile app!!

The committee has spent the last several months building a phone app for members, free on the App Store (search "MROC"). It brings together the club diary, the venues and your membership card in one place, built around what's useful on the day of an event rather than as a general club website.
Events
Every trial, CCV, green lane run, camping weekend and social the club runs is listed there, newest first, with past events dropped automatically. Open an event and you get the sign-on time, the venue, entry details and the regulations. From the day before an event until it finishes, the page leads with what's needed on the day, rather than a full write-up to scroll through for the start time.
Getting there
Every venue the club uses is on a map, each with the access notes that matter at a working farm or quarry: which gate to use, which track is the exit, what to watch for on site. Directions go to the gate itself, not the postcode, with a choice of Apple Maps, Google Maps or what3words.
Your card
The app carries a membership card with your name, number and the year it's valid for. It doesn't replace a Motorsport UK competition licence, so there's a place to keep a photograph of that alongside it, plus any other ID you'd want to show at an event. Photographs stay on the phone.
News, without the noise
Club news appears as the committee publishes it, with an optional notification for a new post, a cancelled event or a membership renewal coming due. Nothing else — no marketing, no third-party content.
Off the grid
Anyone who has tried to find a farm gate on a phone with no signal will know why this matters. Once the app has been opened with a connection, the events, venues, access notes, directions and any saved regulations stay readable with none at all.
Members and guests
Set your details up once. Visiting from another club? A guest option gives the same access to events, venues and news without needing to join.
Privacy
There are no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. Your details and any ID photographs are held on the phone and never uploaded to the club — a "forget me" option in the Club tab removes the lot.
The app is free, available on the App Store (search "MROC"), and works alongside the website and the printed calendar rather than instead of them. MROC has been running events across the Midlands, the Welsh borders and beyond since 1967; the app is simply the latest way of finding out where the next one is.
